No more throwing money away on costly facials….

throwing $

The Wonderbar cleans, exfoliates and nourishes to promote clear, well-hydrated skin, much like a facial.  A facial is the second most popular spa service after the massage.  It is sometimes called “deep-cleansing” or “deep-pore cleansing” because of extractions.  It can be quite costly, especially as a monthly or weekly expense.

The Wonderbar does all of this for your skin every time you use it!  And all for just around a dollar a day……you can’t beat that.

“After using the Wonderbar, I have not needed to exfoliate.  After a good lather and rinse, my skin is soft and smooth, even though there is nothing abrasive in it.  It is super mild.  I have creamy soft baby skin.  I’m not kidding.  And my husband won’t need to hear me nag about getting facials anymore, in fact, it has gotten rid of his rosacea.”  The Beauty Snob, August 2009

The Wonderbar is NOT a soap!

If someone tries to tell you that the Wonderbar is a soap, don’t listen!  It is true that soaps dry out our skin due to the high PH levels of the binders used in soap.  It is also true that the PH level for Wonderbar is around 5.65- exactly the balance our skin needs. This is why, after consistent use, dry skin becomes less dry and oily skin becomes less oily. The Wonderbar tones and balances the skin very well. The manufacturer of the Wonderbar has the world patent on the material that binds the bar together. It is not drying like a binder you would find in a soap. It cannot be found in any other product in the world and this makes the Wonderbar very unique. Also, the Wonderbar is made of four different organic algae that literally heal the skin several layers down. The Heilmoor clay detoxifies the skin resulting in deep-cleansed skin with minimized pores. It acts as a toner, cleanser, exfoliate and moisturizer. It is great for acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, dry skin, oily skin, large pores, hyper-pigmentation and much more. The longer you use it, the better your skin gets. It really is a one of a kind product and because it replaces all of your skincare products, it is very cost-effective too. It is suitable for all skin types. So, I agree with all of the skincare experts that soap is terrible for your skin and, like many, would never let a bar of soap near my face. After using the Wonderbar for 8 months very consistently and as directed, I will never use another product or be without this one (and I’ve tried them ALL!). I can’t find anyone who has used it correctly who doesn’t feel the same way. What you get is very healthy, hydrated, toned and balanced skin…..

Wonderbar can’t do wonders in the shower…on your skin at least!

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Now on your hair as a shampoo, well that’s a different story and a different blog post.  We are talking skin here…and this is what we have heard several times: “I tried it a few times in the shower and…”  or “My Wonderbar melted in the shower and I didn’t have the chance to try it again…” or “I used the Wonderbar everyday and it didn’t do a thing!”.  This last statement always makes us suspect the shower!

Well, if you are using your bar in the shower like a facial or body soap, then it really won’t do much, but clean your skin.  The Wonderbar is intended to be lathered on the skin and then allowed to dry, like a treatment.   This is why the instructions say ‘let sit for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing’.  If not allowed to dry, then it can’t do its job.  The best way to use the bar is to lather it all over your face, neck and/or other body parts and let it sit to dry…before you get into the shower.  Then shower and rinse.  Be sure to apply in the evening as well!  You can leave it on your body through the night, but most people rinse their face (although we do have the occasional addict, who will leave it on 24/7!).

So keep it by your sink.  You will find that it lasts MUCH longer this way too.  And remember, the Wonderbar works very well as a shampoo in the shower, but as a scalp treatment, the above will apply.  Leave it to dry before rinsing!

Sensitive Skin and Rosacea may have finally met their match…..

rosacea

I can’t tell you how many friends and clients I have who are scared to try the Wonderbar because they have “sensitive” skin or because they have Rosacea.  Well, we have some news…..The Wonderbar is wonderful for sensitive skin!  It is actually safe on a baby!  The people who have decided to take the plunge and use the Wonderbar have been surprised to find that it is for ALL skin types, even sensitive.  You might have to go through a little healing phase while your skin adjusts, but when your skin becomes balanced, you’ll be so happy!

The other thing is Rosacea.  I was not aware of this added benefit when we first began selling the Wonderbar.   Our clients, though, have made us plenty aware of it and we are very excited.  One man, who has had a bad case of Rosacea for several years, just came into the store in Austin and bought FOUR bars!  I guess if you find something that works, you stock up.  As he put it, he has never before found a product that quite knocked out his Rosacea like this….or even close.

SO, before you close your mind to the Wonderbar for Rosacea and sensitive skin, think about how great it would be to just have ONE product, non-toxic, inexpensive and simple to use, to help manage your skin issues.

My husband loves the Wonderbar and now I have to share.

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

As it turns out, now that I have finally found a skin care routine I can stick with, I have to share it :) .   I suggested to my husband that he try the Wonderbar to minimize his pores…..and that worked really well.  Then he started using it as an aftershave and now he doesn’t even get razor burn.  And his soft skin…who knew?

Hide your Wonderbars people!  Now you know what to get the man who has everything, or at least the man you thought had everything…

Skin looks great, but certain areas feel like sandpaper!

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: I have been using the Wonderbar for several months and I love it.  My question after going through the “healing phase” and loving the results is:  Why does my neck feel rough all of a sudden, almost like sandpaper!

ANSWER:  We posted a question recently on the importance of NOT exfoliating during the initial dry phase that the Wonderbar can bring on.  This is because the skin is not ready to come off yet and you can tell this by the redness that accompanies the dryness in the first 2-3 weeks.  However, if you have already gone through the redness and dryness that the “Healing Phase” can bring on, and you have been using the bar for a while, try taking a warm wash cloth and gently exfoliating any area that has accumulated dead skin cells.  You might need to do this on occasion, as the Wonderbar continues to encourage cell turnover at a faster rate than normal, so that top layer can get ahead of you.  For this reason, occasional mechanical exfoliation will work beautifully…AFTER you have fully adjusted to the bar and only AFTER the redness has gone completely away.  We have heard from our clients that the Clarisonic brush also amps up the results of the Wonderbar when used once a week or so.

How do I store the Wonderbar?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: How do you suggest it be stored? On a soap tray? In a container? Left out in the open?

ANSWER: Simply store it on a soap dish with drain holes or slots.   Try waving it in the air for a second to dry it faster before you set it down.  It dries very quickly, anyway, but still can get a little stuck if you set it down really wet or covered in suds.  For traveling, you can use a little mesh bag or just put it right into your dop kit dry…remember too that with anti-bacterial properties, you don’t need to worry that bacteria will grow on the bar in the open air.

Why is my skin so dry only three days in and should I try to exfoliate?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: I have really dry skin to begin with and after using the Wonderbar for three days, my skin is uncomfortably dry.  I’m beginning to think it is not for me and that it would be better for people with combination or oily skin.  Have you heard this before and should I be using a scrub to remove the dry skin?

ANSWER:  I would like to assure you that the dryness you are experiencing is perfectly normal and will not last. It is part of the “Healing Phase” as your skin adjusts to the Wonderbar. Some clients may face initial breakouts too. We recommend that you do not stop using the bar until the this phase passes. You might notice redness, dryness, dry patches and mild breakouts.  With the initial use, you will see that almost like a mild chemical peel, the rate of cell turnover will speed up leaving a top layer of dry skin.  After 2-3 weeks, this will pass and the dead skin will come off on its own…leaving you with a balanced, healthy glow.  If you try to exfoliate, scrub, brush, slough or do anything else to remove the dry skin during the first few weeks, you could damage the skin barrier.  Think of getting a sunburn and trying to “scrub” it off…you wouldn’t want to do that for obvious reasons.  People do get anxious, but this is the time to just be patient and let the Wonderbar do what it’s meant to do.  A pure, hydrating oil or cream, or even Aquafor, will come in handy and can be used as much as you deem necessary.

After you have adjusted, pay attention to your skin and use as needed….some people use the bar once per day, while others sleep in it!  Everyone’s needs are different.

Is the Wonderbar safe around the eyes?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: Can one put the Wonderbar around the eye area?

ANSWER: I do use the bar around my eye area.  You could potentially get dry patches that will eventually come off with consistency.  This is the healing crisis and you do get through it.  I have some clients who don’t use it around their eyes because they don’t want that fragile area to get too dry, but it’s up to you.  Also, keep in mind that not everyone goes through a healing crisis so you could try it around your eyes and see how it feels.  I hope that answers your question……you just have to experiment because people react differently.

Which moisturizer works best with the Wonderbar?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: What moisturizer do you recommend?

ANSWER: We recommend that you stick with something all natural, non-toxic and chemical-free.  The Wonderbar itself is not “all natural”, but the few ingredients that are chemical in nature are extremely mild and non-hazardous.  A facial oil that is 100% pure (jasmine, sweet almond, jojoba, argan, apricot, evening of primrose, rose hip seed, arnica, calendula, neroli, sunflower, grape seed, hemp seed…) is always a good thing.  Be sure that there are no fragrances hiding in there, though…that’s not a good thing.  There are many creams and serums that work great too.  A 100% pure hyaluronic serum will lock the moisture in and there are many products that contain aloe vera which are both calming and hydrating (e.g. Jiade Cosmetics Truly Organic Night Cream).  RMS Beauty makes a raw coconut cream that is all natural and awesome not only as a moisturizer, but as a makeup remover too!  To see more natural moisturizing options for use with the Wonderbar, click here.  There are over 200 choices with a zero hazard rating, which is what you want.  This website is also a wonderful place to go when looking for non-toxic makeup and sun block.
