cellarbar

Getting ready to head back up to New York for an editor’s day at the Bryant Park Hotel, where I will be launching the Wonderbar.  This is the picture of the bar, which is not where I will be conducting my meetings, but I did think it was beautiful, so I put it up.  I’m not saying I WON”T be in the bar, just not for the whole day.  But, again, I drifted from the point.  I will meet with editors from many different magazines (all of my favorites) and have the opportunity to tell them face to face what this product is all about.  I’ll have samples and giftbags on hand for each editor to take home and try out.  SO, hopefully lots more Wonderbar press in 2010!  (are you listening my bestie?)  Also, Wonderbar will be making a large splash in March when it is featured in a very exciting national publication- I can’t tell you which one, but will as soon as it hits the stands!

While I have you, I wanted to quickly share a couple of interesting testimonials.  You never know what the Wonderbar is going to get rid of, so people tend to use it for all sorts of stuff!  One woman told me last week about a red, raised bump she had on her chest.  Several years ago, during a facial, the aesthetician tried to extract something she thought could be extracted.  Well, she was wrong and it got infected and, well, there has been a rough red bump on this woman’s chest ever since.  She has tried to get rid of it, but to no avail and it has bothered her a lot.  She didn’t want to wear v-neck tops because of it.  You probably know the rest of the story, but I’ll tell you anyway.  The Wonderbar has made it flat and barely visible.  It’s almost completely gone and now I have a very happy client.

The second little story is about a teenaged boy who had keratosis on his arms.  It’s really not great to have red bumps all over your arms that look like pimples when you are in high school.  Kids are mean and they say stuff.  Anyway, it has bothered this kid enough to go to dermatologists for help, where he was told, “no cure.”  He started using his mom’s Wonderbar and, as you might have guessed, the bumps are totally gone.  I believe he is on his second bar.  I love this story and I am thrilled that something was finally able to help him.

These are just a couple examples of MANY that make me wish I could tell everyone in the world about the Wonderbar.  I don’t feel like I need to push people to use it, though.  It sells itself.

pizza

I will be posting between now and New York, but will be getting ready for my trip and getting very excited!!  If you have a favorite pizza place in the city, please share it with me!!  Even though I have my “pizza finder” application ready to go on my iPhone, you never know- just want to be prepared!  If I can’t have my family with me, at least I’ll have great pizza!!

Please, somebody, get that man a Wonderbar!

Did you really think he was just blushing? C’mon, you know someone with rosacea.  We ALL do.  1 in 20 people have it… to be exact.  Rosacea is a relatively common disease and is one of the most common dermatological conditions.  It’s estimated that in the United States it affects approximately 14 million Americans!  OK, so you know several people who have it and it might even by YOU.  I certainly know one…..ME!  Or, at least I used to.

rosacea wineYour dermatologist might tell you that you should continue on with the expensive steroid creams, medications and laser treatments, because there is no known cure for Rosacea.  Many people still report, though, that after all of this, they continue to have flare-ups.  Can you imagine when people find out that the Wonderbar gets rosacea under control…..and only at a fraction of the cost of everything else they have tried?  Thinking about that excites me NO end!  Not because of what I am told by my clients, but because I know first-hand that this is no scam or gimmick- but rather, a long-awaited solution to a very unsightly condition.  Not to mention, you can go to a party and enjoy a glass of red wine without turning bright red!

If you are scared to try something new because your skin is too “sensitive”, please reconsider.  The Wonderbar actually lessens sensitivities.  When you understand that it actually “heals” your skin, you just might be more willing to give it a go……

balance

Life, marriage, diet, curriculum, funds, budget, skin, checkbook…..what do they all have in common?  They all need to be balanced.  This is the part people miss about the Wonderbar.  They get that it detoxifies your skin.  They know that it heals your skin, but they might be missing the most important aspect of this miraculous little bar…..that it balances your skin.  So while the clay brings the toxins out and the algae heals from within, the balance is also being restored.  Wha-La!  Healthy skin!

When skin is described as “normal”, it means that it is ”balanced”.  What does normal mean, though? Well, when we’re talking about skin, it means that you don’t have a problem with oil or breakouts, and you don’t feel that your skin is dry and tight. Most people with normal skin, now listen closely, have small pores, little to no breakouts and can get by with little foundation.

To keep your skin normal or balanced, you need to use a product with the right PH-balance level.  The pH of normal, healthy human skin is somewhere between 4.5 and 6. The Wonderbar’s PH-balance level is right around 5.65.  People who use the Wonderbar largely claim…..yes, small pores, little to no breakouts and not much of a need for foundation or powder.  And there you have it.  Now about that checkbook……

JANELLE G!!!!!

Here is her comment:

“I’ve used the bar since October, and it’s made a HUGE difference on my skin! My pores are sooo much smaller, my skin feels tighter and my skin has cleared up alot! I love the fact that I only use one product to wash my face. I’ve tried so many other OTC products, then I came across this one, when a co-worker said she was going to try it. I’ve been using it religiously since! Yes I did experience the “healing crisis”, but it’s worth it! I’m more confident now, since my face isn’t covered in acne like it used to!”

Thanks to all who participated and please look for more contests to come!

Tackle Problem Skin, Restore Balance with The Wonderbar!

beauty expose
January 3, 2010 by Allison Giuffre

wonderbarMy prejudice against all-in-ones started somewhere back in my childhood with Pert Plus shampoo/conditioner/does-absolutely-nothing-er and has since been solidified by the marketed marriage of hair care and body washes across the board. But my incessant traveling, nonfunctional (yet SO stylish) luggage and duty to BeautyXpose have collectively broadened my beauty horizons. So when limited luggage space inevitably questioned my judgment — bring along an adequate array of footwear, or pack my shaving cream, exfoliant, toner, cleanser, anti-wrinkle cream and moisturizer? — I conceded. It’s a good thing! The Wondeux Wonderbar, surprisingly, does wonders for your skin.

The tiny detox bar is packed with the essence of over 700 herbs and plants, 300-year-old Heilmoor clay, and four different organic algae. It’s marketed as ideal for all skin types, because continued use will bring skin back to its natural pH level – which, according to the brand, is 5.65. Oily skin becomes less oily, dry skin becomes less dry…you get the picture. Because of its pH level, the Wonderbar cannot be categorized as a soap. So instead, let’s just call it a multi-tasking miracle for problem skin.

To use, simply work the bar into wet hands. Apply the lather to your face (and neck, and legs, and elbows and bikini line) and let it dry for at least four minutes twice a day. Don’t try to do this in the shower, as it will never dry. If you like what you’re seeing, you can try leaving it on longer as a mask treatment, but I would suggest testing it out on the back of your hand first. Sure, the Wonderbar might smell like something from Aveeno…but it’s far more powerful, so be careful!

wonderbar3Be warned: There is an inherent “healing crisis” risk that comes along with the use of this product, because you know it sounded too good to be true. According to the brand, the dryness and breakouts that may occur “indicate the Wonderbar is doing what your skin needs.” Healing a skin crisis with another skin crisis? Sounds a little crazy at first, but it does makes sense. The bar is altering your skin’s pH level, and depending on what products you’ve used in the past, it may take some time to bring it back to “normal.” It should be noted that some people never experience this healing crisis at all, while others might endure it for weeks on end. For me, it was a dramatic three days of uncomfortable dryness that led to less visible pores and more visible radiance. Consistency is key – don’t give up.

If you’ve got troubled skin, a little hope and a lot of useless products, the Wonderbar should be added to your wish list. You can purchase your own online at Wonderbar USA; $40 will get you a 6-8 week supply, $105 will get you a 3-4 month supply and $140 will get you a 5-6 month supply. Perhaps a bit pricey, but you won’t really need anything else (save a pure hydrating moisturizer, perhaps, with no AHA).

Have you tried it? Are you trying it? Will you try it? Let me know how it’s working for you…even if you just need some moral support through your own healing crisis!

The Wonderbar…the “it” product of 2010, with a little help from my friend, Oprah

oprah and tiff

Here are my goals for 2010:  I want to see the Wonderbar on the “O” list before the end of this year…..AND, I want it on the Oprah show- just a little mention.   Is that really asking too much?  Just say the word, Oprah.  I’ll be on a plane to Chicago to deliver a bar to you in person.  I am ready and willing to deal with “the Oprah Effect.”

You heard me right, I’m going after the mighty Opes.  This is my goal for 2010.  I am about to put that old saying to the test, anything is possible if you want it bad enough.  I think Oprah would love me- especially after I introduce her to my Wonderbar.  We could sit and have coffee and laugh….I would even let her babysit my kids!  Step off, Gayle, Oprah has a new best friend…….she just doesn’t know it yet.

I’ll keep you posted on how this all plays out.

Wonderbar…..a “cult-following potential”? We think so.

A skin-refining slab that’s truly wunderbar

Posted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 by Marci Robin Zitner, NewBeauty Senior Online Editor

Every now and then, a new product shows up on my desk, and I can instantly detect its cult-following potential. It had been a while since those alarms went off, but then, the adorable and very aptly named wonderbar arrived.

I have a weird obsession with bars of soap, and before doing my research, I gladly assumed that the wonderbar was just another block o’ cleanser. In my defense, its charmingly unassuming presentation makes that an easy misinterpretation. But even though it lathers and cleanses, the wonderbar is way more than soap. In fact, it’s not soap at all.

There are two key ingredients in the wonderbar: chlorey’nahre and moor. The former is a special algae derivative, and the latter is an expensive Austrian mud (clay) that encompasses the essences of more than 700 herbs. Together, this blend is said to improve skin in almost every conceivable way: firming, minimizing pores, moisturizing, brightening, balancing, softening, fighting free radicals, controlling acne, lightening discoloration, reducing rosacea redness—you name it.

No, I did not say WonderBRA, I said WonderBAR!

Wonderbra

What do I have to do around here to get some name recognition??  If one more person says to me, “So, what do you do for Wonderbra?”, I’m gonna freak out.  Or,  Oohhhh, I thought it said tiffany@wonderBRA.  I wonder if people walk up to the Wonderbra people and ask them what they do for Wonderbar!  Something tells me no, that doesn’t happen……..yet.    I’m working on it.  ;-)

The point of this is that it is very difficult to establish yourself in such a product brothel like the United States.  It’s like we are not happy unless we have 52 products on our counter at all times, that each have 10 steps.  That’s the bad news.  The good news (and I always have some) is that this is a new age, or era, of simplicity.  People want SIMPLICITY.  There is too much to do, too many activities, everything is SO over-scheduled.  It’s about time we had a simple product…..and one that actually works.  I was talking to this girl today who is a long-time client.  She said, “you know, I spent so much money on skincare products before the Wonderbar!  You cannot believe how I product-hopped and how I never completely ran out of any of them because they really didn’t work and, so, on to the next great thing!  Now I just have this one thing that is my cleanser, toner AND exfoliate and I stick with it religiously.  Everyone always tells me that I just look so clean and fresh.  I have finally settled on what works”.  I love hearing this, as you can imagine and I really think it’s true.

It IS so simple and it is SO surprisingly effective.  I still am amazed at all it can do and while I like to joke that, like the WonderBRA, it makes your breasts perky, it really doesn’t.  On second thought, knowing the Wonderbar, it probably does….

3 Easy Steps To Healthy Skin

3 Easy Steps To Healthy Skin.

Wonderbar Holiday Glow

When you’re going to a holiday party now more than the rest of the year we want that ‘glowing’ complexion. Founder of ArizonaSpaGirls.com, Lisa Kasanicky, did some research into how we can do it! November, which was National Healthy Skin Month, made for a great educational opportunity for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) to share the latest findings on everything from hair loss and adult acne to non-invasive solutions for unwanted love handles.

But what we really wanted to know was how to get on that healthy, glowing, perky skin!

Suzanne Connolly, MD and Associate Professor Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic says that lifestyle choices are at the heart of healthy skin. “An outdoor lifestyle without proper ultraviolet ray protection results in more photodamage and that is the basis for photoaging,” she says.

Dr. Connolly also stressed the importance of using a daily sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection (and not just on sunny days.) “Use of sunscreen routinely, even on a cloudy or cool day is important. It needs to be re-applied; one application in the morning will not have a day-long benefit,” she notes.  “Healthy diet, avoiding tobacco use, less emotional stress, and rest are also important.”

The third part of this equation? Understanding the unique needs of your skin type and sticking to a careful and consistent skin care routine.

Acne-Prone Skin

Zits or pimples or whatever you want to call them, acne is no fun for anyone. Be sure to look for: Oil-free products with salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and non-comedogenic ingredients (does not block pores) Also avoid heavy creams and oily products.

Unevenly Pigmented Skin

While the official term is hyperpigmentation, most of people refer to them as brown splotches or wayward freckles. Look for pigment-lightening products with retinol, niacinamide, hydroquinone, or alpha-hydroxy acids. Also, be sure to avoid sun exposure!

Sensitive Skin

For easily irritated skin, Dr. Connolly suggests introducing new products to sensitive skin with caution. Use a little of the product at a time on small areas at first. Look for “fragrance-free” products with a simple list of ingredients (the longer the list of ingredients, potentially the more apt a product might be to irritate someone with sensitive skin).

Suggested product:  Wonderbar, $40. Available at right here at wonderbarusa.com.

Wonderbar does New York!

Saturday, December 12th, 2009
Hearst Tower

Hearst Tower

Just got back from New York, where I got to have dinner with my brilliant niece who just turned 20 and stay with my close friend in her beautiful apartment on Park Avenue.  I also had the opportunity to pound the pavement in my new semi-wedge boots in 20 degree temps with no gloves- going from corporate office to corporate office giving Wonderbar samples to various skincare buyers for big retailers like Bergdorfs, Henri Bendel, Saks, Takashimaya, etc .  This is not an easy feat if you don’t know New York City- I felt like a tiny mouse in a freezing cold maze (while wearing high heels no less).  I met with two editors and had the best pizza in the world (is it the water?) :) I was feeling pretty cool until my phone battery died and I had to maneuver the CLEAR stairs at the Apple store!  Who installs CLEAR STAIRS!?!  I tripped of course, which brought my ego right back in check.  (No worries about me getting cocky, God seems to take care of it in short order whenever I’m headed that direction).

Anyway, my modest ego and I will get to the  point……LOTS of buzz and excitement out there about this product and many great things coming down the pike.  Expect to see a little more press and hope to see an exclusive retailer for our little bar.  Bottom line: a trip well worth the cost and a big leap forward in our efforts to tell the world about this incredible product!
