The nine “top-selling” skincare products on the Sephora website claim to each do one or more of the following things:

fade pigmentation, shrink pores, improve clarity, treat acne, control oil and blemishes, improve appearance of age-related skin issues, reduce stretch marks, restore elasticity, firm and tone skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, moisturize, conquer skin damage……

They might do some of these things, but NONE of them do it all at the same time.  Which means of course that you aren’t getting out the door without two, three or even four products!  That is actually fine for some, people do like products.  The problem comes in when they spend a lot of time and money and ultimately don’t get the results they are expecting.  At least this is what I’m hearing from our clients.

Also, on the Sephora website, they have a list of ten areas of concern for the face, which can each be clicked on to show multiple product solutions for each area of concern.  They are as follows:

Enlarged blackheads and pores, breakouts and acne, dryness, oiliness, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and uneven texture, loss of elasticity, redness/ rosacea and sun protection!

Hmmmm, that’s all sounding a little familiar…almost exactly like the Wonderbar, which addresses NINE out of ten of them!  The tenth is sun protection and we just don’t do that- but a simple, effective sun block is easy to find.  SO, you can choose from HUNDREDS of products which may or may not address one or two concerns each, OR you can just buy a Wonderbar and an all-natural moisturizer or sun block and call it a day.

For now, let’s keep it between us that the Wonderbar is also a shampoo and scalp equalizer on top of everything else, we do NOT want to sound like we’re bragging! ;-)

Sun Protection

From your head all the way down…to your TOE!

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

The thing is, I am a runner.  I don’t go crazy with it, but I do run around 9 miles per week.  I began to develop this this issue with my large toe.  It was red, swollen and painful and it got worse over the course of about one month.  TO the point that my shoe was hurting me and it was too uncomfortable to run.  I almost wanted to blame it on my ill-fitting wedges that I wore meandering around NYC, but I’ll never know for sure.

SO….because I am aware that people use the Wonderbar for many different types of issues, I decided to try it out on my toe.  I rubbed a little on the side of my toe TWICE.  It completely went away in two days and even when I pushed on the spot where it was so painful, I can’t feel it anymore.  It really seemed to reduce the inflammation and heal my skin.  I don’t know what it was, but it doesn’t matter because it’s GONE.

If you have any skin conditions that you want to get rid of , try it.  Take a picture first and then use the Wonderbar.  If it works and you provide us with before and after pictures, we will send a Wonderbar to you- on us!  We are always hearing new stories about this little miracle-worker…and we can use those stories to help others!

It’s a big month at WonderbarUSA…..

cellarbar

Getting ready to head back up to New York for an editor’s day at the Bryant Park Hotel, where I will be launching the Wonderbar.  This is the picture of the bar, which is not where I will be conducting my meetings, but I did think it was beautiful, so I put it up.  I’m not saying I WON”T be in the bar, just not for the whole day.  But, again, I drifted from the point.  I will meet with editors from many different magazines (all of my favorites) and have the opportunity to tell them face to face what this product is all about.  I’ll have samples and giftbags on hand for each editor to take home and try out.  SO, hopefully lots more Wonderbar press in 2010!  (are you listening my bestie?)  Also, Wonderbar will be making a large splash in March when it is featured in a very exciting national publication- I can’t tell you which one, but will as soon as it hits the stands!

While I have you, I wanted to quickly share a couple of interesting testimonials.  You never know what the Wonderbar is going to get rid of, so people tend to use it for all sorts of stuff!  One woman told me last week about a red, raised bump she had on her chest.  Several years ago, during a facial, the aesthetician tried to extract something she thought could be extracted.  Well, she was wrong and it got infected and, well, there has been a rough red bump on this woman’s chest ever since.  She has tried to get rid of it, but to no avail and it has bothered her a lot.  She didn’t want to wear v-neck tops because of it.  You probably know the rest of the story, but I’ll tell you anyway.  The Wonderbar has made it flat and barely visible.  It’s almost completely gone and now I have a very happy client.

The second little story is about a teenaged boy who had keratosis on his arms.  It’s really not great to have red bumps all over your arms that look like pimples when you are in high school.  Kids are mean and they say stuff.  Anyway, it has bothered this kid enough to go to dermatologists for help, where he was told, “no cure.”  He started using his mom’s Wonderbar and, as you might have guessed, the bumps are totally gone.  I believe he is on his second bar.  I love this story and I am thrilled that something was finally able to help him.

These are just a couple examples of MANY that make me wish I could tell everyone in the world about the Wonderbar.  I don’t feel like I need to push people to use it, though.  It sells itself.

pizza

I will be posting between now and New York, but will be getting ready for my trip and getting very excited!!  If you have a favorite pizza place in the city, please share it with me!!  Even though I have my “pizza finder” application ready to go on my iPhone, you never know- just want to be prepared!  If I can’t have my family with me, at least I’ll have great pizza!!

Goodbye Keratosis Pilaris! (a.k.a. the little annoying bumps on the backs of our arms)

The dreaded Karatosis Pilaris!

The dreaded Karatosis Pilaris!

“Keratosis pilaris is very common, finding a home on the upper arms, thighs, and shoulders. Keratosis pilaris tends to be more severe during the winter months but no one is sure why that is the case and it definitely isn’t consistent for everyone. Basically, the bumpy rough spots are clogged pores that sometimes get red and irritated but rarely itch. Regrettably there is no available cure or universally effective treatment, though it is generally well accepted that unclogging pores and reducing inflammation can improve matters greatly (Source: eMedicine Journal, July 2, 2001, Volume 2, Number 7).”

I had a dermatologist tell me the same thing.  But strangely, since I have been using the Wonderbar, mine is gone.  I don’t ever rinse my hands off after applying it to my face and neck.  I put the leftovers all over the backs of my arms and, as I’m sure you’ve heard me say, my heels.  The little bumps on the backs of my arms have been gone since day 3 of using this product.  Pretty cool, huh?
