I used to use this product a few years ago when I was trying to ”young” myself down before my 20 year reunion! In fact, I had a whole slew of products I was putting all over myself…..I liked it at the time, but it felt distinctly like it was sitting on the surface of my skin. Flash forward a few years and now I’m using the Wonderbar. A beauty editor, who I had gotten to know over time through emails, asked me if she could use her favorite product, CE Ferulic, with the bar. I said “no”, don’t use anything with the Wonderbar except for a plain moisturizer. Always learning…….
I decided to try it myself, in the hopes that I could tell her further into her process that “YES!”, she could use her favorite product after all. Well, I was adjusted to the Wonderbar at that point, so I bought some CE Ferulic. The first thing I noticed was that my skin soaked it up like it hadn’t before. It felt like a different product to me!
Now, after using for some time (in between removing the Wonderbar and applying my moisturizer (I’ll get to that next)), I love it. Just adds a little extra oomph to my already glow-y skin. And from what I understand, it adds extra sun-protection as well. Gotta love that. So, this is my official product recommendation. Go get some CE Ferulic, it’s definitely good stuff.
Now on to the moisturizers- certainly a lot of great ones out there. I bet I’ve only skimmed the surface, but for the time being, I’m hooked on Argan Oil. It is not too greasy and it keeps me very hydrated, even during the brutal Winters we have here in Houston.
So, add this product, or any 100% pure facial oils to your list of moisturizers that work very well with the bar and do not break you out…
Please give me feedback on any products you have found that work well with the bar! Love to hear your thoughts!!

are there any tinted moisturizers that you would recommend?
I hate to play favorites, but Laura Mercier has a great oil-free tinted moisturizer that gives good coverage and is very light. Also, you might try the one by Lorac. Both are available at Sephora.
thanks!
my first time using it…Directions say DO NOT use in the shower…However, am i able to let the wonderbar dry first and then can i take a shower while rinsing it off?
yes, just apply it five minutes before you get in and then rinse off in the shower….that is fine.
ok – I bought some of the CE Ferulic to use with the bar. LOVE it! Have been using it for 7 days. It adds the perfect amount of vitamins. I love the way my face feels even more. Good tip!
I agree…I think it makes me love the Wonderbar even more because the serum soaks in SO well.
hi tiffany…just wanted to let u know ive been using the wonderbar for 2 weeks and im loving it…im a guy too evrybody!
One question..how much of the wonderbar do you have to lather and should ur hands be wet etc..?I just ask this cause my wonderbar is disappearing in less than 2 weeks and i only apply it twice a day. Should white soap foam be all over my face?
Did you get a sample or a $40.00 bar? The mini ($40.00) lasts at least six weeks. The sample lasts two weeks.
I stick the bar under the running water and lather in my hands until it has a lotion-y consistency. Then I immediately apply to my face and neck. There isn’t a whole lot of foam and I don’t use a whole lot of water…..my mini bar lasts for around six weeks. When we say eight weeks, that is really more for men who use it as a shaving foam.
I just wanted to say that I LOVE tha wonderbar and have used it successfully with other products (after the healing crisis) and that I didn’t know that Houston had brutal winters?? try CHicago, dearie!
Hi,
I’m ALWAYS cold and this winter was cold, so I didn’t like it. I’m a baby and the only way you could lure me to Chicago can be described in one word: OPRAH.
Only brutal for me!
Do you use the serum after moisturizing or before? Also, do you think any vitamin c serum is ok (I make my own, using ascorbic acid powder, works great). Thanks!
Always use the serum before moisturizing. I would think any vitamin C serum would be OK. That’s sort of the good thing about getting through the adjustment phase…..you can test out new things and if you break out, you know what it is! Good for you on making your own!!
Thanks Tiffany – How long is adjustment usually? Not sure if I missed that point somewhere! Thanks!!
It can last anywhere from a few days to six weeks to none at all! Totally depends on the condition of your skin…
Hi! Any sunscreens that you recommend (or moisturizer with sunscreen)? I am super pale and burn at the drop of a hat. Thanks!
Hi Sarah,
My dermatologist, who prescribed retin-a a few years before starting the Wonderbar, recommended that I use Vanicream 60 for sensitive skin, which is a great physical sunblock. There are many great ones out there, though. For extra insurance, make sure you are not using a powder or moisturizer with ADDED spf, as these have been proven to be not as effective. I have been told by clients that Skinceuticals has a great one as does Blue Lizard from Australia….and you can google physical sunblock and lots of stuff comes up!
Ok so i have been using wonderbar but 2 days ago i got a really big cyst on the side of my temple on my head…what do u recommend using w the wonderbar to make this giant thing go away
We recommend that you use the bar twice daily for 3-5 minutes with a plain moisturizer and a physical sunblock. Also, make sure you are not using any type of mineral powder that might be causing a reaction. If you let me know everything you are using, I can let you know if it sounds compatible.
Thanks for the question…
Hey Tiffany!
Thanks for evrything! Wonderbar has saved my life. I onlyh have 1 question. Im a guy and this wonderbar is giving me little whiteheads around my mouth and beard area..I believe its due to the wonderbar blocking my hair follicles around this area where i shave daily on my face…anything u recommend?
Hi Ronnie,
So glad the product is working well for you! Would you mind telling me how long you have used the bar and with what products you are using it? Sometimes you can get little breakouts in the beginning, or you can get breakouts due to another product you are using in conjunction with the Wonderbar that is perhaps interfering with the balance of your skin.
Let me know! Thanks so much for the question….
